Review on B203 101 PNP 1 Port Extender Transmitter Receiver by Jamal Gerrero

Works as advertised. Note the cable length

This device allows you to extend your USB connection far beyond the minimum normally allowed for USB cables. It's important to note that this will not bring any USB devices onto your network. - It simply uses the same Ethernet cable that your network uses to transfer data back and forth. So it's not that easy to connect it to a network switch, there has to be a direct connection between the two components. In testing, I found this to be better for keyboards, mice, and printers than hard drives and memory. I routed the connection from my basement to the upstairs bedroom, deliberately using an extra-long patch cord to bring it closer to the 164-foot maximum distance. I plugged in a USB hard drive in the bedroom and connected it from a PC in the basement. At first the connection worked fine, but as soon as I started loading data onto the hard drive, the signal disappeared. This is likely due to cable length limitations, which are priced at about half of what a typical Ethernet network connection will allow. Note that you don't get USB 3 speeds here, as the extender only runs at USB 2.0 speeds of up to 480 megabits per second. But everything about this product works pretty much as advertised. Keep the cable length under 164 feet and this will significantly extend your USB devices from the host computer.
