I ordered this set of Fantek steak knives because I needed a new set and I have just bought a second Fantek chef's knife. The first chef's knife I ordered was from Grandsharp. Both chef's knives are excellent products. (I gave the second one to a relative.) So, based on my satisfaction with the Fantek chef's knife, I ordered steak knives. Anyway, this morning I had a chance to use one of the steak knives. Although these knives are light in the hand, they cut very well. I had a striptease this morning that I accidentally overcooked so it was tougher than usual. The knife cut through with ease, much easier than I expected. My old steak knives, although I sharpen them regularly, don't cut either. The cause may be a jagged edge. The teeth are much smaller and therefore stronger than on my old steak knives. I didn't think it would make a difference (actually I thought the smaller prongs wouldn't be as effective when cutting), but apparently it does. I'll be testing these knives for a few months and then will update. this review. And the last. It's hard to beat the prices on these knives. And if you don't like them, you always have a 30-day return window.
