Rotating brushes do not fit

I had problems with my vacuum cleaner after installing the rotating brush. First, the vacuum shut off because the brush couldn't spin freely. After lubricating the end of the brush to make it rotate more freely, now it makes a thud with each rotation, the vacuum cleaner makes it very noisy.
