While I LOVE the concept, features, functionality and flexibility of this product, I immediately noticed that if I leave the water in the bottle for more than a day. When I then took a sip, the water tasted like silicon. (I bought this as a backup source for my long commute so I didn't have to carry around my large, heavy, and bulky 32-ounce bottle of Nalgen). maybe I shouldn't leave the water there for more than a day. It definitely changes the taste of the water for me and it's not that appealing so I don't use it anymore. but heck if it doesn't have all the other features I specifically wanted. Oh, I also have to say that the first time I filled it all the way it started tipping/tipping. Because its structure isn't solid/rigid, it won't stand upright without tipping over a bit when full.
