They really are built for heavy duty applications. I wasn't expecting that weight at all. Once installed they look great. But the key is probably an experienced installer. To be honest you will have to modify the door jamb for heavier doors (I used four on a 1.85" fireproof door to the garage) if you go flush with no trim. This could be because the hinge is so close to the edge of the post/wall and so recessed that you can't screw anything in from the opening side. You are looking at the drywall side of the post (hence the need for modification). I'm only a weekend warrior when it comes to handy crafts, but I've found it takes a lot of lessons to get it right. And when you're spending over $100 on door hinges, you want them to be right. I'm sure interior doors (and of course closets) are simpler.
