Review on Pack of 20 Red Wax Battery Operated Remote Control LED Flameless Christmas Candles with Tree Clips by Lights4fun, Inc. by Lauren Brown

We bought these this year to decorate our 'old fashioned' Christmas tree and initially I was very happy with the purchase. The wax finish looks realistic enough and my only criticism was that the tips are white and I think it would be better if it had a more yellow tint, similar to a real candle. In any case, the candles have a sturdy clip with a swivel that allows you to position them correctly. The remote worked quite well with a timer setting and 4 dimming options. Right out of the box I would give it 4 stars. However, after four or five evenings of use, the batteries began to die. I bought good quality Energizer batteries and figured they would last a long time considering they are advertised as LEDs which are very energy efficient. I was sure that a set of batteries would help us get through the holiday. Also, they seem to turn on randomly now. Perhaps this is a function of dead batteries, but in the mornings I find 3-5 included (i.e. until everyone is dead). So unless you're very stingy when you use them, you might end up using 60 or more batteries per season, which is terribly wasteful (in terms of money and the environment). I'm afraid I'll have to send them back.
