Not for permanent inflation

I used the pump to empty the waterbed because the suction processes were not working properly due to the nature of the mattress. The pump did its job, but the batteries used (AA lithium disposable batteries) got very hot, to my surprise. I took it out and put it in the freezer for 10-15 minutes and then put it back in the pump and it continued to work. After that I was more vigilant and stopped the pump when the batteries started to heat up and restarted when they cooled down. There's a big difference between pumping 5-10 gallons of fuel and pumping a king-size waterbed. I think I pushed the pump beyond its intended purpose.
