Review on 🔍 Solder Fume Extractor: Aoyue AO486 Benchtop Solder Absorber by Jorge Kumar

I'm starting out with board level repairs and wanted to be able to do this at my work station, not outside or with a mask. Once the product has been removed from the packaging and the stand has been attached, it is not possible to place the device back into the packaging for safe and sound storage. However, I decided to keep the box as it is convenient to put an extra filter in it. Although the product is mainly made of plastic, it is very durable and feels strong. When I first turned the unit on, I noticed that there was a lot of air coming out of the exhaust pipe, but I wasn't sure how strong the suction would be. Aoyue 486 pleasantly surprised me with its ability to remove fumes and smoke from the area I was working in. I didn't have to put it directly on my work and it attracted smoke as I worked. I have noticed a slight engine odor coming from the exhaust area and that the handles that attach the stand are a little loose and need tightening from time to time, but other than that I am very happy with this product.
