Review on Intel Core i7-8700K: Unleash the Power of 6 Cores, Turbo Boost up to 4.7GHz – Perfect for LGA1151 300 Series Desktops! by Adam Koakowski ᠌

I am amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

Well. something worthwhile from Intel. After the burned-out 7700K, I already thought about taking AMD, but unfortunately, the cooler is incompatible in the current configuration, I had to wait for a special mount that Cryorig sends for free, and the RAM was not on the AMD compatibility list, so I waited for this one and took it (almost for 26K, which is great, given the prices of speculators at 35-40K at the time of purchase). Accelerates with one toggle switch in BIOS up to 4.7 GHz. Aida's stress tests pass with a bang, the temperature of the cores under stress is up to 90 (usually 80-85, one core jumped to 93 for a short period), respectively, did not troll, in idle mode at 30-35 degrees (Cryorig Ultimate 5 cooling). I haven't run games and renderers yet, but I think it won't be inferior to the 7700K, and I think it will be comparable to the Ryzen 1800X. Worth the wait until the prices settle down.

Pros
  • 6 cores, 12 threads. Overclocking
Cons
  • I don’t see it yet, I’ve only been racing for 2 days . Well, except that it’s incompatible with the Z270.
