Review on πŸš€ Enhance Data Transfer with Ableconn PEX-SA134 4-Port eSATA III 6Gbps PCI Express Four Lanes Host Adapter Card - AHCI Port-Multiplier PCIe 2.0 x4 Controller Card by Eric Montgomery

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great and inexpensive 5Gb/s RAID card!

The card was packaged very well, came in a nice box which included a driver disk and an insert with the right instructions and information about the features you need to know. Everything went smoothly with my Windows 10 setup with a RAID 1 configuration. The onboard header provides activity LEDs for each drive, which was very handy in my case. The circuit board is clearly screen printed and of decent quality in my opinion. I really don't like how they sell it as 6Gb/s implying that it runs that fast when in fact it accepts a SATA III drive with a theoretical bandwidth of 6Gb/s whose speed is limited by the PCI Bus is limited - E 2.0, to which you connect a card with only 5 Gbps. This may be confusing to some and I just want to talk about it to make things clear. I've added 2 screenshots to demonstrate the speed reduction you can expect from this card compared to a full-bandwidth SATA III connection. The card performed flawlessly and the slowdown wasn't very noticeable for the most part. The POST screen flashes briefly, too fast to see any text on the screen. I just wish there was a way to adjust the delay so that I can at least see the POST information provided.
