This non-slip mat probably holds the mat in place fairly well as the surface is very "sticky" to the touch, but we didn't keep it at home long enough to try it . Upon opening the package, it was even thinner than expected. I knew it wasn't a thick pad, but it REALLY wasn't a thick pad. I find the use of the word "cushion" in the description of this product to be extremely generous. More importantly, the intense smell of the pad was irresistible. After working with this object for just a few minutes, my eyes began to sting. This is not good. I can only imagine the various chemicals that will be released from this product and remain in people's homes. Definitely not what I wanted in our house. I quickly repacked it and sent the Revain back. If you have kids or pets — or anything that lives in the area you'll be using it in — you might want to look at some alternatives. Call me crazy but I wouldn't recommend this item just for the nasty chemical smell and stinging eyes.
