This works great. Felt protects hardwood floors and adds softness under carpets. It glides easily across the floor, so only use it on large area rugs that will support furniture. Otherwise buy the one with the clutch. I bought the 8X11 and it was perfect for my needs. The previous complaints that 8X11 isn't perfect are ridiculous as it's a woven/mesh fabric that stretches naturally. Definitely takes a bit more work and allows for trimming to your carpet (good scissors recommended!). Also, the previous comments on dirt in woven felt are quibbling in my opinion. They exist due to the fact that it is a recycled fabric, they are small enough and do not affect the properties of the product. Some people just like to complain I guess because it was exactly, if not better than what I expected.
