I can't understand such a big difference between synthetic mats. We recently replaced our old carpeting with hardwood floors and wanted something in the bedroom that would deaden the noise of upstairs footsteps, make the space warmer and welcome our bare feet on a winter morning. It's a damn cheap rug, and it looks good, feels good underfoot, stays in place, and requires no padding. If there were more colors besides green and red I would buy more. In its current form I bought 3 smaller ovals, also for our large bedroom. We put one on the floor by the bed on the man's side, it's a narrower section of floor; one for the floor at the foot of the bed; and another one that we can put in front of our kitchenette in the room. It doesn't look fancy or expensive, but it's attractive and doesn't have that faux aged pattern that some cheap rugs have. (Thanks, I can wash my own rugs.) Also, our allergist recommended avoiding wool, which is great. The low price means there's no yelling or hand wringing if one of our grandchildren spills something that completely ruins the rug. If it's good, keep it, and if it accidentally breaks, throw it away and buy another. Couldn't be happier.
