These knives are well balanced and light weight which is what I need. I chop and slice a lot of meat and my hands and arms get tired easily. These knives aren't very expensive, but I think that's because they don't last very long. After about 3 or 4 uses you will need to resharpen it or at least sharpen it on a wet stone or with what I use, a portable hand knife sharpener. For their price and versatility, these knives are just a godsend to me. The largest knife is actually too big for me, except maybe for slicing a turkey or a rib roast. But for slicing raw meat for kalbi, which I usually use my knives for, they're fine. I would probably never use the smallest knife, but the three middle knives will definitely be used more often. They are not titanium but titanium coated for the price well suited for my needs. They're bright and fun to use, but the colors really help me determine how deep I'm slicing each piece of meat. So if you get in the habit of using the colors as an almost unconscious guide, you will have more power. I love these knives and if I were to buy them for someone's housewarming or new kitchen makeover I think they and I would be happy.
