Difficult to work with

I used this metal thread as a lettering accent on my DIL work cap. After a few stitches, the thread became brittle and separated from the cotton thread with which it was mixed. Sewing a thick baseball cap is even more difficult. On subsequent projects using this design I decided to omit the gold thread and it made things MUCH easier. I'm not sure I'll try to use this stuff again.
