Works, but tedious.
This worked, but not without problems. Connectors do not mate with standard plugs. The pins are thinner and shorter, and the fork doesn't fully seat by hand. These combinations cause intermittent connections. I had to use pliers to squeeze the connectors together to make a good connection. I also tied and sealed the connectors for fidelity. Also, be sure to tie or secure the assembly to an existing wire harness or other secure object. Otherwise you now have about another 20cm of wire/component hanging around and stressing the wires on the back of your lamps.
