After trying three other phones from different manufacturers, I came across this GE model. The buttons are large, like other models. The speaker is loud, like other models. This phone was unique in that it could be set for constant gain, whereas every other phone I've tried had to manually adjust it with every incoming call. The main feature is that my parent doesn't press the button to memorize the numbers while playing around with the keys. The store function button should be on the side, away from other buttons. Phone numbers on a model we had were constantly being overwritten by accidental key presses when my parents accidentally fiddled with the keyboard. Using only the speakerphone allows the user to answer calls without using the headset. Using the speakerphone is better for my parents than using a one-ear receiver! There's even an external speaker buzzer in the pillow in case this phone is used with someone who is bedridden as that can be an extra help. I stuck closet door bumpers on the buttons to help parents find the phone's key button, so now it's even easier to use without messing around with the keyboard! Manufacturers should take these features into account when designing their phones.
