I didn't buy this for wrist support but because I needed something small enough to put on my very cluttered desk to support my elbow. My doctor advised me to stop leaning on my elbows on a desk (but my computer chair doesn't have armrests) and I'm trying to break the habit, but now I've decided to give it a try. Will it help? Not sure yet, too early to tell. but it's definitely softer than leaning my elbow on a hard surface, and it's quite comfortable when I catch myself leaning on that elbow (again!). There's enough gel in the pad where it's firm but soft, but you won't be putting enough weight on it if your wrist or elbow falls through the pad onto your desk. And if that doesn't work for my elbow, I guess I could use it as a wrist rest ;)
