The same does not apply to replacement aquarium filters. They are as advertised. This filter system is inexpensive and quiet. I have a 55 gallon fresh water tank with four large fish about 6 inches. I recently learned that the bigger the fish, the more oxygen it needs. I've recently added a strong bait which is irritating to the eyes but I've noticed a marked improvement in fish behavior. It also makes the filter system more difficult, which means you have to clean the filter more often.
