Review on πŸ›’οΈ JDI-8DCP 8 Gallon Economy Portable Poly Oil Drain by JohnDow Industries by Ryan Yap

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Leaks under the wheels. Factory installed screws will go through.

Out of the box it looks like a great oil separator/oil sump. It has some very nice features including a built in capped spout and a handy grip/tip when you drain the oil. BUT. After changing the oil on my diesel truck (16 quarts / 4 gallons, that's half the capacity of this sump), I pushed the sump aside to do other work. After a few hours I noticed oil in four places under the latch. On closer inspection, it was found on each of the factory-bolted rollers that the bolts had completely penetrated the red "sump" and oil was leaking from every part of the roller. In my photos you can see one of the holes I left with the oil pan after shooting the video. My attempt to solve the problem is to use RTV around the screws and caster base, not sure if it will hold or not. For a product of this price it shouldn't be leaking. I would recommend that you stay away from it or be aware that you need to make changes once you receive it.
