Review on TEKTON 2905 7-Piece Impact Screwdriver Set - 3/8 Inch Drive for Efficient Fastening by Tom Plowman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not bad for the price!

Works well when you figure it out. My back. Adjusting it to R will loosen it and L will tighten. It doesn't make any sense to me. However, with some experimentation (and using a 3 pound sled) I was able to loosen the fasteners and snap them back in when the job was done. These were Honda Accord front brake rotor bolts which did not have a torque specification in the factory manual. So I pushed her back with the same force I had used to free her. The finish of the percussion part of the instrument is not very nice, with many abrasion marks under the coating. But the lining comes off very easily and the bits are stuck in the lining. The spring mechanism came loose after a few uses. However, it was cheap and worked well enough for me. I like it. If it was as well made as my other Tekton gear it would get five stars from me, but the fact that the directional arrows appear to be reversed, the finish is a bit ugly and the tolerances are sloppy I give it three. Stars. Definitely worth the money but nowhere near as good as some of the ones you can get for around $50. Not having $50 to spend when I needed them, I'm happy with what I got for my money. This is recommended if you need it now, are short on money in your budget, and don't plan on using it too often. It works well. I take the more expensive one for my home tool closet and take it with me to my Jeep travel tool box.

Cons
