1 Star for Required Aftermarket Fixes for Unnecessary Ideology in Baby Toys

My child seems to like cars in their basic function, like everything is fine; I suspect he would have liked them just as much if they were painted like a clown splashing paint on them. However, I feel compelled to give one star due to the aftermarket modifications required. Basically, the decision to turn on the police car for no apparent (logical) reason seems like an odd ideological choice to respect the status of an unloved (i.e. often oppressive) force in society. Keep in mind that this is a toy intended for a one-year-old who doesn't yet have an ideological vision, and it seems odd that a toy company would be introducing it. In a way, I find it fitting that it's made by a company called Melissa and Doug, as those are probably the names of people who would feel comfortable calling the police for almost any violation. It seems out of place. alongside unarmed "public" services (school bus, fire engine, and taxis, although not a public service). Clearly, given the inclusion of taxis, there is no aversion to solely taxpayer-funded services, so including an ambulance service seems a more ideologically neutral choice (ie a service that saves lives, not destroys them). Perhaps in their next iteration, Melissa & Doug will feature an Uber driven by an underpaid teacher in place of a cab and a border patrol car in place of a school bus.
