I bought this antenna to replace the standard antenna (long whip) that came with my Ford F150, mainly to prevent the standard antenna from scratching the garage door every time I drive in or out and so I can drive the truck to the car wash if I want. A perfect purchase so far. The antenna works great - no drop in reception even though the antenna is short and the woman no longer screams every time I drive in or out of the garage! I would highly recommend this antenna to anyone considering a shorter replacement for their standard antenna.
