It looks like it will do what I need. Product support will be questionable.

I received it today and this it was ready to use with my 10.5 inch iPad Pro and iPhone 7. I'll try to remember to update this review when I get a chance to try it. see photos) to get an idea of how it fits and works, but I think I get it now. It came in a plain plastic bag (see photo #1), don't expect any instructions for setup and use. In fact, after several attempts, I couldn't find a website for Vikdio. There are at least two other seemingly identical products in Revain from companies called Gimars and Ulanzi. Of these two x Ulanzi seems to have more experience in the photography industry, but this version of this product is no better than Vikdio or Gimars. I have an old DSLR that I've been using for many years, but it doesn't make the photos available to instantly send to others or share on social media. I finally realized that my phone and tablet can take simple group photos with the same quality as my clunky DSLR and allow you to instantly share photos with friends in a variety of ways. That's why I bought this tripod. The price was low enough that I wouldn't have "buyer's regrets" if it didn't work well enough. After a few tries, I was able to connect my phone (with an Apple case) and my iPad Pro (with a non-detachable case). Through trial and error I found that I have to attach these elements in a specific way, otherwise I won't be able to access all the controls. This was easy to do after playing around with it for a while. I can already say that I will love the very compact size which makes it easy to take to parties. There are several ways to attach the mount to a tripod. In any case, you will need the included ball mount. This is not a blow to the product. The swivel mount lets you raise or lower the camera to fine-tune your aim. The first way I tried was to mount it "long ways" using the screw hole at the bottom of the bracket (see photo #2, sorry the picture is on the side and I can't figure out how to it rotates). I'll probably use it that way in the future because it supports the tablet in both portrait and landscape modes from the bottom (see photo #2). However, using a mounting screw in the middle of the mount (see pics 3 and 4, sorry pic 4 is on the side again) made it a little less heavy when mounted on a tripod. The downside to using the middle mount in landscape mode is that it doesn't support the tablet from below (see photo #4, sorry, still on its side). The phone is much lighter so I don't know if this affects assembly. Bottom line, it remains to be seen how well this will work and what the product support will be like (doubtful). ), but probably worth the risk given the relatively low price.
