Many promises, but many problems.

Out of the box, this unit seemed to work perfectly. The automatic switching was exactly what I was hoping for, aside from the annoying beeping sound that some others have mentioned. After I actually started using it, it had a lot of serious problems. Sound, picture and control issues are one of the reasons I am returning this. To get this thing working I tested it with a variety of well known good HDMI cables and plugged the device between my sources and the TV. Without change. This device. Audio: TESmart struggles to reproduce anything other than stereo audio by skipping channels from a strong 5.1 or 7.1 source like the Apple TV 4k. You can hear background audio but not the voice track, causing the center channel to drop out. I have a receiver that can handle just about anything sonically, but it can't handle this switch. Picture: This device works great in the picture. a little. After 2 weeks of using it I found I had to reset it at least daily as the picture turned into a series of vertical lines and no signal at all except for occasional flickering. Sometimes this happens while watching a movie without making any changes to the settings. Control: My setup relies on HDMI to help devices detect the presence of a signal and turn them on or off accordingly. For example, turn off all video sources and the TV will turn off. I haven't had any problems with this setup for many years. Not so with TESmart. This thing wreaked massive havoc and confused my receiver and TV to the point where they would change inputs from time to time. If you plan on having any complications in your setup, I do not recommend this device. If you're planning on connecting it directly to say a projector in a conference room or a TV for use in AGMs, that *might* work for you, but I'd probably avoid it anyway.
