Review on 💡 Enhance Efficiency and Power with C01575 Replacement Electric Motor by Matt Larsen

When we bought this house the exhaust fans in the bathroom were already noisy and slow but we tried to extend their life with grease etc. However, the one in the main bathroom eventually malfunctioned and stopped working. just moan while turning lazily every 10-30 seconds. I put the repair on hold because I thought I would have to replace the entire fan/light/heater assembly and I didn't find many available that would fit the existing hole and I wasn't looking forward to messing with cutting/ Drywall/floating/painting/wiring/loft climbing needs to be plugged into a new one.. In the end I gritted my teeth and said that's it, either way I'm going to fix this damn thing. I started from below, ie from our bathroom, to see what I can find out about the unit without visiting the attic (this fan is under the low part of the roof, it would be a big problem to put it on the to reach the attic). Pains). I was able to find that when I removed the headlight cover and took out the bulb, there was a locking screw underneath. Moving the locking screw allowed me to remove the entire inner cover of the unit after unplugging the easy-to-remove light connector. This detected the heater on one side (working properly) and the exhaust fan on the other. . The exhaust fan motor had an axle that went into a metal box that held round blades, and the blades were larger in diameter than the hole, so I figured I'd have to climb into the attic anyway. But then I saw that the entire exhaust fan assembly could be removed by removing a set screw and sliding it to the side so it was free of the latches. Once I got the exhaust fan assembly out, everything else was easy. I disconnected the motor and looked for something with the same characteristics. I found this one which looked like an exact replacement to me. Luckily it was. When I got this replacement I put everything back together, hooked it up and now we have a working extractor fan in our master bathroom. In hindsight it was almost an easy replacement and I think I could replace the fans in the bathroom. two more identical blocks for about 5-10 minutes each from the salon via a short stepladder. I am attaching two photos. The first shows a piece of toilet paper held in place by the suction of a recently replaced exhaust fan (when I turned the fan off the cloth fell off, FYI). The second shows a side-by-side comparison of the old and new fan motors. This replacement motor is good value and I don't know how long it will last, but it looks like it was made almost exactly like the original motor. Fan that has lasted 24 years. Time will tell and if I run into any durability issues I'll come back and update this review.
