I was working on a friend's car which was in pretty bad shape with bird droppings and general paint contamination. Thought I'd give these pads a try, so I didn't shell out $12-$15 for a pad on a car I don't have. I used them with my Porter Cable random orbital polisher and a 6.5" baseplate. Because I was a bit worried about how these pads would hold up, I ran the polisher a little slower than the regular pads I use. aggressive Chemical Guys edge polish and yellow pad, then less aggressive edge polish with white pad, and then soft polish and blue pad. After polishing, I applied the wax by hand. Overall I'm very happy with the results, I was successful and my friend loved it. I had no issues with the pads tearing or melting through the velcro on the back. I haven't really seen any issues with heat build up on any of the pads. Now I feel comfortable, I can use these pads. Pads on my own vehicles so will definitely be making this purchase again.
