I was looking for a fast wide angle lens with manual focus for night shots and this is a great option if you can't justify buying a $1,000+ original zoom lens. . I shoot with an Olympus omd m4/3 camera, so I'm a bit limited when shooting in low light. However, at night I was very impressed with this lens, especially for the price. If you're shooting with a Micro 4/3 camera, you can get away with moonlight at f2.8, iso800, a shutter speed of around 10 seconds and end up with crisp, low-grain images. If you're shooting in daylight you can set the lens to f8+ and focus almost to infinity and leave it there when you need quick shots. The 24mm equivalent field of view means everything in the image needs to be acceptably sharp without worrying about focus. You get a noticeable vignette wide open, but stopping down to f2.8 changes what's visible in the image noticeably. There's also a flair issue I've experienced when shooting into direct light sources. You might just have to work with the camera position until it disappears, unless you're looking for flair in the picture. The images produced by this lens are very sharp, especially at f5.6 and above. The focus ring is of good weight. The overall construction of the lens feels solid, it's metallic and feels really premium. If you're looking for a manual focus lens for landscapes or night shots the most but don't want to spend a lot of money, this is a fantastic option.
