My first stone so can't speak for other comparisons. Works perfectly. If you have low quality knives and they are long overdue, a coarser stone might be a good place to start before a 1000/6000 combo. I love everything in the anti slip base kit. It's easy to save. One thing to keep in mind is to make sure you dry the stone very well 1-2 days after use. Mold or mildew can appear on the surface of the stones. It is convenient that the stones have a durable plastic with a hole for hanging. Shaving the hair on the back of the handmade stone. Accepts exercise like nothing. Thanks for a great product!
