As it is packaged and presented it should be the best cooking gift you will ever have. This is a very good quality, great feel and a great knife. It's also overpriced and I wouldn't spend it on myself given the range of knife sets available. But it's a damn cool gift. Like a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue It's not the best price but I can guarantee if you're giving one of these sets to someone who cooks or someone who makes carving a celebratory roast feel special. It's going to be a hit. The wooden case it comes in has a magnetic lid and the knife and fork are embedded in a black felt trough which is very decorative. I was pretty impressed. Again, this isn't something I'd want to buy for myself at this price point, but getting it for my birthday or holiday would probably be a favorite for the occasion.
