Only an idiot would blame the adapter itself (unless it was literally defective) for any problems. I was almost afraid to buy because of the useless bad reviews lol! I have an Aqua Marina SUP that requires 15psi. I used an electric pump adapter and it worked great! I have a 120 volt Bonaire inflator that's not expensive (available at Walmart) and hit the magic number of 15psi in 29 minutes, but it's better to inflate by hand. My electric pump has a built-in pressure gauge. So turning it off for a moment will give you the exact psi range you're in and no pressure is lost checking. It remains tight when switched on, even if the pump has been switched off for some time. It has to do with the quality of the pump making it work, the valve stay in place and do its job. Good product!
