I bought these because I live near a highway and the sound of passing trucks is very annoying. If that's not enough, freight trains can get pretty noisy, especially when they brake, add cars, and honk the train horn. every simple background noise I hear. I can still hear the sound of lumber trucks and freight trains loading firewood and they can be quite loud. These headphones reduce any noise I hear, which helps when watching movies or listening to music on my computer. As for the Bluetooth along with the volume control, I haven't used it much since I put it on my old headphones that I use. So I can't say how good the blue tooth is. Overall, it helps with noise cancellation.
