Just cut the cable from our local monopoly cable company. I grew up in the country with no cable or satellite, just a big antenna on the roof that gave us 4 channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS). From that experience I really didn't have any major exceptions for indoor antenna, digital HD or anything else. I plugged it in and installed it on the entertainment center and after a scan it found 9 channels. Experimenting in different directions I was able to get 23 in the end - about 20 were crystal clear. The instructions are reliable, if you can't read you can follow the pictures. I had to do everything I could to understand the meaning of the channels: I had to put it in a window and use an amplifier. He tried different combinations and settings just to see but that's the only way I get any feeds. The only thing to keep in mind about the antenna is that its placement can be very important if you don't have a window to install it. Just a few feet away will determine if a low-power channel is being received. I definitely recommend this to others.
