Okay, first things first. They are designed to last a long time without adding weight. The ratchet system works smoothly after the first start and they stay in place. The handles have a hole that you can easily block, giving you another way to lock your trailer. Once in place it will not move and will keep the pendant secure. It's light and small enough to fit under my truck's seats while driving. By far the best tool I have ever bought for my trailers.
