I had 2 different welding hoods for home use, both of the high-intensity lens type. I use one at work, great for production but when I was welding at home it was a quick stretch maybe a few times a year so the helmet needed batteries or runs a few minutes and dies, I live up north. Therefore, cold weather affects the functionality of helmets. Most home welding jobs won't require changing bezels, and yes the quick lens feature is useful, but this old-school helmet doesn't care about the temperature, it doesn't require batteries and it's cheap in terms of cost. Jackson's old school helmet is cool, I'm glad they still make it.
