The quality of the electrical parts (USB and 3.5 plugs and cables) is very good. However, the block itself is made of plastic. The lock nut that you screw onto the back of the device to hold it in place is also plastic. Unless you attach it to a perfectly flat piece of plastic (like the bracket that comes with it), you won't be able to tighten it very firmly and prevent it from moving or loosening after installation.
