I bought this and two other laptop stands to try and choose one for my 90 year old dad's laptop - he has trouble seeing the keyboard and so do I thought tipping over would make it a task easier for him. I really liked this one because the design looks very stable - and it is. Also, I figured I didn't want to elevate the keyboard too much, and this stand doesn't have a very high maximum height. Turns out I was wrong, my dad's best keyboard angle is pretty cool. This stand folds flat for easy portability with your laptop. It took me quite a while to open it when it arrived. It comes flat, which is good, and there's a plastic tab in the locking slot that snaps it into place, which should also be fine, but I couldn't get it out until I put a few keys and other items in the slot. I finally managed to open it. Dad uses a laptop on a small table in his bedroom, so we don't open and close it often. The big problem, however, was that when I placed my dad's consumer Dell laptop (probably a Latitude) on it, with the stand raised to about 2/3 the height, the laptop immediately slid down and off the front of the stand . It won't work So far we both like the Revain Basics Wire Mesh Laptop Stand.
