Review on Tripp Lite PV375 Blue Car Power Inverter - 375W Auto Inverter, Ultra Compact with 2 Outlets by Tim Wilson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

First impression: Order 12v clip mount socket

Pros: 1. Build quality 2. Fused3. Build quality (dismantled and there were no visible traces of poor assembly) Neither here nor there 1.) The fan is noisy. I'm thinking of 30dB. I took it apart to replace the fan with a quieter one, but found that the included fan was moving 8cfm. I couldn't find a 40x40x20mm fan that ran at 8CFM at 20dB. So the fan is not cheap and the device is too small. The consumer can have a small or a silent inverter, but not both. This problem is easily solved by placing it under the seat. The foam in the seat acts as a decent silencer. Cons: 1. The maximum operating power far exceeds what the cigarette connector can handle. (This is what it says on the box) Therefore you cannot use the full potential of the device without connecting it directly to the battery. So, Tripp Lite should include a battery clip.2. I have found that the switch is interfering with the connection of certain devices. (Canon 50 Charger)

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Infinitely slow
