The knife came out of the box very sharp. Cooked dinner with him that evening. Excellent knife. It's sharp, feels comfortable in the hand, easy to use with practice to get used to the higher hand position (compared to a chef's knife) and has a good sheath as this little one doesn't fit in a knife block.
