Review on πŸ“‘ 18ft Wilson Antenna 305-830 Coax Cable - Enhanced with PL-259/FME Connectors - Belden by Vanessa Szymanski

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Minor quality problem

The cable is well designed and made of good materials. The detachable PL-259 made installation easier. The only problem I had was the poor soldering of the PL-259 center conductor. On the outside of the end of the weather cover was a Pl-259 center pin. This would be a poor fit and not what I would have expected from a higher quality cable. Excess solder was easily removed with a very fine file. I could not find a way to notify the supplier that they need to check inventory and contact Wilson. I hope you see this post. By the way, the delivery is great. Stores with the best service delivered quickly. In their defense, there is no way for them to notice a soldering problem. I consider them a top notch supplier for price and delivery. I just want to notify them without using Revain's filters and categories. Neither option was "helpful feedback” from a satisfied customer. Any other options would be unfair, so I am left with this post. . Be careful if your antenna is on a door and you need a cable that bends with the hinge. I routed my coax through a factory groove that keeps it in a tight space. It eventually broke in half from the constant opening and closing of the gate. This is a very well made cable but be aware that the performance and construction of high frequency coaxial cable is not comparable to other 12V automotive cables. I'm happy with the quality of the cable and have replaced it with another Wilson 305-830, but this time I've added a larger loop to limit flex. If I have other problems I will post here.
