17 " long - bright and colorful...albeit expensive
I have orange shorts and they are really bright orange. They are a medium size and they measure 17" top to bottom . They have two side pockets that are nice and deep. There are no back pockets. The top is covered with a pocket. The waistband is 1.5". The waist isn't much 'shoddy'. There is a drawstring waist. The material, which is 60% cotton and 40% polyester, is quite soft. These shorts are made in Malaysia made, so I find the current price of sixteen bucks a bit steep, but I like them.
