Okay, this is my third attempt at building a luggage rack for my Townie 900. I first tried attaching panniers to my Trek bike, but they all rubbed against the tire or broke under the weight of my 10-pound King Karl Kavalier. This was my last attempt and I'm very glad I did. This basket is amazing. It's durable and requires no additional tools or screws for installation - only 14 inches from handlebar to wheel. Side straps wrap around the handlebar under the cogs, while center straps run along the front frame. Honestly I thought it would work but it's ok and my little Bentley loves it. I have a few suggestions for improvement. Add a corner clip so it can be attached and stowed in a side pocket. When I go through the bumps, some of my stuff flies out of this bag. Add a small stretch pocket on the shoulder strap for glasses or phone. Finally, when you roll up the front flap for ventilation, the Velcro is such that about 3-4 inches of the flap is still hanging down, reducing airflow. We live in Florida so I turned the fluffy bottom padding onto the nylon side and I use clothespins to hold the flap. These are all cosmetic changes. I use the basket every day on my 13 mile trip and I love it! Not a single mechanical complaint! I highly recommend this product and it's worth every penny!
