When I ordered the lens I knew what I was getting into - a cheap lens that would involve some compromises. I have several manual focus 7Aratisan, KamLan and Samyang lenses so this is not my first rodeo. I have many Fuji Prime lenses, but I need a "character lens" whose flaws I can use to my advantage. It turned out that I was right - cheapness, a few compromises, character and flaws. It was missing: fun, concentration and everything I could use. For a fairly wide 25mm lens, it was surprisingly difficult to focus, even at f/5.6+. The images reminded me of underexposed Polaroids - raw, dark and soft. I shot the lens with the X-PRO3, a camera I use with many manual focus lenses that has had great success, and with the 25mm lens the camera gave every indication that it was in focus while the images looked very similar to what I was attaching. .Perhaps the lens I received had a collimation problem - one or more elements were not quite aligned. There seems to be a plane of focus that runs from top to bottom in the landscape, just left of center. In the attached image (my notes say taken at f11) this plane shoots through the trees in the background. I have sent the lens back and will continue to look for a medium wide, fast lens with character. I have a dozen fitted lenses, but I want something compact to carry.
