With a larger hook and stronger construction than the local shop version of this tool, this T-handle spring release tool is a solid piece of rust-proof chrome that doesn't wear (House) shop can do without. I originally bought this tool to help disconnect the strong clutch return spring on my John Deere LA1xx series lawn tractor. After ordering this, however, I successfully got the job done using a conventional drum brake spring removal tool and some ingenuity (spreading the crossbar apart with a small pry bar, then the clearance is perfect for using a drum brake tool).
