It's not Plain-Jane, all your friends have the same goal. . .and it's not only aesthetically pleasing, it's functionally convenient. Not to mention a much more refined design than anything I've had in thirty years. A beautiful combination of dark wood and sleek black metal is a modern take on a classic barn door. Assembly is a simple process. The instructions are easy to follow, so in about fifteen minutes we'll have it ready to place on the door, along with both extensions. The gate weighs approximately 17.5 pounds. It measures 30" tall and fits openings from 29" to 43". You do NOT have to open and remove all gates each time you want to enter or exit the protected area. Not with a see through barn door. They have one built in Door that opens in any direction It is convenient to operate with one hand, making it much easier to enter with a laundry basket, a bucket of toys, a tray of drinks, etc. Equipped with a "silent" self-closing hinge " meaning that no loud bang could startle sleeping children or overnight guests. If you're planning on using this gate at the top of your stairs, rest easy - it comes with a "stair stopper" which, if it is on, prevents the door from swinging. Crafted from quality materials, this barrier will be with you for a while. Comfort, peace of mind and oh so beautiful. Worth the extra initial investment.
