The adidas Originals Tubular Shadow in Maroon/Vapour Grey/White is a fresh take on a retro silhouette that's been around for a few years. I love this color scheme, the maroon looks rich and sophisticated while the gray upper and white sole keep the sneakers from looking too dark. Unfortunately, the Tubular Shadow lags behind when it comes to comfort. The sock-like knit upper is tight but doesn't breathe very well. On a hot day, my feet felt sweaty and uncomfortable after just a few minutes of wearing them. The insole is thin and does not offer good cushioning. In terms of design, the Tubular Shadow is still a compelling option. The exaggerated tongue is on trend, while the molded midsole is eye-catching. However, if you're looking for a shoe that can be worn all day without discomfort, the Tubular Shadow might not be the best choice. All in all I'm a bit disappointed with this shoe. I expected more from adidas, especially considering the price. If you really like the look of the Tubular Shadow and don't mind sacrificing comfort, go for it. Personally, I cannot recommend these sneakers as everyday shoes.
