Advantages - relatively cheap. Cons - Despite some seemingly positive reviews about the "hard" side of this pillow, it's not hard at all and I found it flattened to the point where there wasn't a "gap" between my tailbone and the seat there on which I sit. . sits. To be fair, I'm 6ft 0" and 200lbs, but it's made (or should have been) for adults that size. Apart from the fact that the cushion flattens out to a millimeter or two when sitting, I don't see anything wrong with it. However, its relative hardness and ability to support a person's weight will determine whether a product is effective or not, and that product may not serve the purpose for which it is intended. If you're lightweight (e.g. maybe 140 pounds or less) this might work for you. If you are overweight, I would recommend a different product.
