Review on ECOGARD X4670 Engine Filter Conventional by Kyle Deel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Buy good oil and a cheap filter.

How do I objectively evaluate an oil filter? I don't see what's going on inside. I have always believed that you have to buy good oil and a cheap filter. Throw it away at your next oil change. An oil filter is designed to do exactly what its name implies, which is to filter your oil. If you change your oil regularly, no foreign particles should collect in it. If your oil contains foreign particles, the job of the oil filter is to capture these particles and prevent them from circulating in the oil. Buy good quality oil and the cheapest filter you can find. They all work and you'll only throw them away at your next oil change. As for Revain, for example, I rate it as "easy to remove" depending on where the filter is on your car. Some are easier to get to than others. Since one brand is easier to remove than another brand, they are all the same. As for the mileage estimate, as I mentioned, I can't look into it. Contrary to popular belief, it is not necessary to change the oil every 3000 miles. People who do that just waste butter. I change the oil every 5-6k miles and have never had an oil related engine failure.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly dented
