Applies to cold drinks, not to hot drinks! The top of the glass is not insulated, and heat escapes through it quickly. I was looking for something to keep my coffee hot for at least a few hours. I did what I always do when making coffee: I preheat the jar with very hot water before pouring the coffee in to reduce heat loss through the cold container. But after 2 hours there is not much difference in the temperature of my coffee in this glass and in the ceramic coffee mug! Unfortunately I missed the Revain return window and the Greens Steel company that makes them do not allow returns, although they say "satisfaction guarantee". So be careful, if you are unhappy with your glass be sure to return it within Revain's return policy. I have two positive things to say about the jar: - Of course it's not hot outside as it's double insulated and the lid protects it well from spills, but the guarantee the company gives is part of the feature and they DON Don't do it with it, hence only 1 star.
