The best ceramic knives. Now made from eco-friendly materials and recyclable packaging 🌎

Kyocera only uses ceramic knives there. On a whim I added the set to my wedding list (black blade) over 10 years ago and continue to collect it along with my favorite Global knife collection. Yes, I love Japanese knives and consider myself a kitchen samurai. Over 10 years later, the Kyocera is still just as good, if not better. They are still made in Japan ❀️ The quality and workmanship is impeccable. I like the greener direction Kyocera is taking. The plastic handle is made of cane. It makes the hair feel different and lighter. But I can hardly tell. The packaging is much better than before. Gone are the clear plastic blisters that are difficult to open and cannot be recycled. The new packaging is made from recyclable/compostable cardboard. Hooray! The knives are perfectly protected, covered with several layers of cardboard. The quality of the blades was consistent. All my knives, no matter when they were bought, are the same. Very difficult. The scalpel is sharp. Be careful not to accidentally cut yourself while you get used to it. In addition, the blade must be treated with care. Don't use it on bone objects, avoid hitting the fruit stone. Don't leave it in the kitchen sink and then pile the dishes on it. Don't use it to crush garlic or open a jar. Treat it like a thin sheet of glass. If mishandled, it will tear, break, break. I wash by hand. I put mine in the dishwasher too, but each knife has its own basket so the blades don't bang against each other or anything. I keep them in a knife holder. They can be sharpened. Kyocera sells a diamond sharpener. Or you can send them. Ceramic knives usually cost a little more to sharpen, but it's worth it. Sometimes small chips can be repaired. The all-purpose knife is the most versatile and best entry-level model. I have 4 of these and use them the most! If you are interested, give it a try. Use it to cut fruit. Peel your mango like never before. Cut the tomato. You will be connected. You will be spoiled. You will never use anything else.

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Weak kit
